Stainless Steel Table 1998
Fellows/Martinez Architects
David Taber, Designer

The 1/8” thick stainless steel tabletop is designed to appear as a floating plane. This is achieved by two rectangular-shaped, tapered trestles that run diagonally, expressing the thin top at the two long sides of the table. Also tapered, the four triangular legs raised above the floor by small adjustable shoes add to the weightlessness of the table. The satin, transparent quality of the stainless steel is achieved by a finely sanded, non-directional finish.
