Painter’s Cart 2000
Taber Studio
A commission to design and build a palette table for an artist led to an investigation of custom sliding shelves and drawers. Since the artist requested that her supplies be visible at all times, a suspended storage system was conceived that allowed access from either side of the cart. The acrylic shelves and drawer bottoms allow light to penetrate to the surfaces below and are tightly secured but slide freely by the aid of aluminum extrusions.
